    144 suspended Ghana Water staff petition Mahama over unfair treatment

    Greater than 140 suspended workers of the Ghana Water Firm Restricted (GWCL) are interesting to President Mahama and Chief of Workers Julius Debrah to intervene in what they describe as unfair therapy by the corporate’s new Managing Director, Adam Mutawakilu.

    The employees, suspended since February, say the choice has left a lot of them homeless, financially distressed, and unable to supply for his or her households.

    Talking to Adom Information, spokesperson Yussif Amuda Adam Gunu stated all inner makes an attempt to hunt redress have been ignored.

    “We’re 144 workers members who’ve been suspended. We’ve written letters, made calls, and adopted all processes, however nothing has come out of it. Our solely hope now’s President Mahama and the Chief of Workers. We’re pleading with them to name the MD to order and assist us return to work,” he stated.

    Mr Gunu added that a few of the staff have been evicted from their houses and are struggling to care for his or her kids.

    “We’re not criminals. We’ve solely been handled unfairly by the brand new management,” he lamented.

    Different suspended workers described the motion as politically motivated and inhumane, regardless of years of devoted service.

    They’ve known as on the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Assets, the Public Utilities Staff’ Union (PUWU), and human rights organisations to research the matter and push for his or her reinstatement.

    Efforts to acquire a response from the GWCL Managing Director have to date been unsuccessful.
