    2025 Budget: Gh₵200m for tidal wave disaster, Gh₵242.5m for Akosombo spillage

    Weeks after being left homeless, uncovered to harsh climate circumstances, and on the mercy of mosquitoes, victims of the recent tidal waves and final 12 months’s Akosombo and Kpong Dam spillage can now heave a sigh of reduction.

    The federal government has allotted GH₵200 million to assist victims of the tidal wave catastrophe.

    This follows latest tidal waves that displaced residents of Salakope, Agavedzi, and different coastal communities within the Ketu South Municipality. The catastrophe has brought about extreme devastation, destroying over 51 homes and displacing greater than 300 people. Luckily, no lives have been misplaced.

    Equally, GH₵242.5 million has been allotted to assist victims of the Akosombo dam spillage.

    On fifteenth September 2023, the Volta River Authority (VRA) started a managed launch of extra water from the Akosombo and Kpong Dams. The train, which lasted till thirtieth October 2023, brought about vital flooding in surrounding areas, significantly inside the Decrease Volta area.

    Based on authorities statistics, over 88,000 folks and greater than 5,000 properties have been affected by the flooding.

    2025 BUDGET: Full record of Allocation to Numerous Sectors or Programmes

    6. GH¢3.5 billion: Allocation for the free secondary schooling program.

    7. GH¢564.6 million: Allocation for complete provision of free curricula-based textbooks.

    8. GH¢1.788 billion: Allocation for the Faculty Feeding Programme.

    9. GH¢145.5 million: Allocation for the Capitation Grant.

    10. GH¢203 million: Allocation for the cost of instructor trainee allowances.

    11. GH¢480 million: Allocation for the cost of nursing trainee allowances.

    12. GH¢9.93 billion: Allocation for the Nationwide Well being Insurance coverage Scheme (NHIS).

    13. GH¢2.81 billion: Allocation for the Ghana Street Fund.

    14. GH¢7.51 billion: Allocation for the District Meeting Frequent Fund (DACF).

    15. GH¢1.5 billion:  Allocation for Agriculture for Financial Transformation Agenda (AETA).

    16. GH¢51.3 million: Allocation as seed fund for the institution of the Ladies’s Improvement Financial institution.

    17. GH¢300 million: Allocation for the Nationwide Apprenticeship Programme.

    18. GH¢100 million: Allocation for the ‘Adwumawura’ Programme.

    19. GH¢100 million: Allocation for the Nationwide Coders Programme
