The Second Deputy Governor of the Financial institution of Ghana, Elsie Addo Awadzi is taking early retirement.
The transfer is about to take impact on twenty eighth February 2025.
President John Mahama has accepted her choice and expressed appreciation for her service to the central financial institution and the nation.
In a press release signed by Minister for Authorities Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President acknowledged Mrs. Awadzi’s contributions, stating, “The President thanks Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi for her distinguished service to the Financial institution and the Republic and desires her effectively in her future endeavours.”
Mrs. Awadzi, who has been in workplace since 2018, performed a key position in Ghana’s monetary sector reforms and banking regulation.
Her resignation brings an finish to her tenure on the central financial institution.
Final week, President Mahama nominated Dr Johnson Asiamah as the following Governor of the Financial institution of Ghana, pending approval by the Council of State.
