Accra Hearts of Oak communication director Kwame Opare Addo has disclosed that the Ghana Soccer Affiliation (GFA) has prohibited the group from utilising the College of Ghana Stadium as their residence floor.

This determination comes after the Nationwide Sports activities Authority (NSA) closed the Accra Sports activities Stadium, prompting Hearts of Oak to undertake the College of Ghana Stadium as their momentary residence venue for the 2024-2025 soccer season.

Nevertheless, following a current stadium evaluation, the GFA has deemed the power unsuitable for Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches and has instructed the membership to safe another venue.

In an interview with Glad FM on Monday, March 3, 2025, Addo revealed,

On Thursday night, we acquired data that, per the improved security and safety measures, Legon Stadium doesn’t meet the required requirements, and as such, we can’t play there.

He elaborated on the GFA’s considerations, which highlighted safety dangers and the substandard situation of the pitch.

The communication states that the pitch is undulating and that the protection and safety zones from the place the buses park to the dressing rooms are deemed not safe sufficient. Due to that, they’ve dominated the venue unavailable.

The Ghana Premier League is scheduled to renew on Friday, March 7, 2025.

Hearts of Oak will face Younger Apostles on Saturday, March 8.
