    Annual inflation charges for greens, tubers and plantains of 45.5 per cent retains its dominance as the driving force of meals inflation.

    The GSS explains that the distinction between meals (28.1%) and non-food inflation (18.8%) was 9.3 proportion factors, including that each year-on-year and month-on-month meals inflation improve in February 2025 by 0.2 and 0.4 proportion factors respectively. 

    “Month-on-month meals inflation (1.8%) is greater than non-food inflation (0.9%) by 0.7 proportion factors. The distinction between inflation for regionally produced gadgets (25.1%) and imported gadgets (18.5%) is 6.6 proportion factors,” it stated.

    Nonetheless, it states that year-on-year meals inflation decreases for the primary time within the final 5 months although marginally, and year-on-year non-food inflation slows down for the fifth consecutive month although marginally.
