A viral video has captured cops spraying money on the newly appointed Inspector Normal of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
The footage, taken on the police headquarters in Accra forward of his official swearing-in, exhibits an unidentified officer wearing white showering money on COP Yohuno whereas different officers in uniform jubilantly rejoice.
The video has sparked combined reactions, with some members of the general public questioning the gesture.

In the meantime, President John Dramani Mahama has formally sworn in Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno because the Inspector Normal of Police (IGP).

The transient ceremony came about on the Jubilee Home on Friday, 14 March 2025, attended by high authorities officers, conventional rulers, and shut members of the family of COP Yohuno.
Through the ceremony, COP Yohuno, led by the President, took three oaths—the Oath of Allegiance, the Oath of Workplace, and the Oath of Secrecy. He was then offered along with his instrument of appointment earlier than signing the oath ebook.
Addressing the gathering, President Mahama tasked the IGP with actively tackling bribery and corruption, abuse of power, and indiscipline to uphold professionalism inside the police service.
He acknowledged the growing circumstances of violent crime, cybercrime, fraud, and world terrorist threats, emphasising the essential position of the police in sustaining regulation and order.
In response, the newly sworn-in IGP, Christian Yohuno, pledged his dedication to the police service’s resetting agenda, vowing to uphold professionalism, transparency, accountability, and equity.
He highlighted the significance of neighborhood engagement, stating that neighborhood policing and partnerships can be central to crime prevention and regulation enforcement efforts.
