    GRA urges eligible taxpayers to voluntarily disclose incomes earned

    The Ghana Income Authority (GRA), has urged all eligible taxpayers to voluntarily disclose incomes earned and pay the taxes as a result of state to keep away from the cost of penalties and pursuits in addition to going through different sanctions.

    In a press assertion issued on Thursday March 27, the GRA, stated it’s dedicated to collaborate with taxpayers pay their taxes.

    “GRA engages all taxpayers to evaluate their incomes earned and follows a normal process in speaking with them. These processes embrace, writing to request taxpayers to voluntarily declare their earnings; elevating assessments after they fail to declare their earnings by the due date and following due processes to request for the cost of the tax due”.

    The GRA, nevertheless added that, it wouldn’t hesitate to implement motion in opposition to non-tax complaints. 

    “Enforcement actions reminiscent of garnishment of accounts are resorted to solely after taxpayers have refused to cooperate with the Authority following the tax assessments raised”.

    This follows the GRA’s denial that it has frozen the financial institution accounts of Richard Nii Armah Quaye, the founding father of Payments Micro Credit score Ltd.
