    Tensions ran excessive within the early hours of April 5 as Talensi Youth set fireplace to the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC) workplace in a dramatic rejection of the District Chief Government (DCE) nominee.

    The assault on the get together workplace occurred hours after the discharge of nominees for the 15 Municipal and District Assemblies.

    Whereas particular causes behind the youth’s disapproval of the DCE nominee are unclear, sources inside the get together say the nominee’s affiliation with sure chiefs within the space could have triggered his rejection.

    The Police have since taken over the city and an investigation has begun.

    In the meantime, President John Dramani Mahama has formally nominated candidates for the place of District Chief Executives (DCEs) throughout the nation.

    The nominations, made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Structure and Part 20(1) of the Native Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended, at the moment are topic to approval by the respective District Assemblies.

    A proper communication from the Workplace of the President, dated April 4, 2025, outlines the checklist of nominees.
