    Illegal miner gets 12 months for theft

     An 18-year-old unlawful min­er has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment by the Nkawie Circuit Court docket within the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Area for stealing GH¢7,000 at Manso-Moseaso.

    Emmanuel Oppong, accused, pleaded responsible to the cost and was convicted on his personal plea.

    Police Detective Chief Inspector Ntim Boadu, prosecut­ing, instructed the courtroom, presided over by Mr Robert Addo, that each the complainant, Grace Obeng, a dealer, and the convict, resided at Moseaso.

    The courtroom heard that the complainant saved the GH¢7,000 in her purse and left it in a cabinet.

    Chief Insp Boadu mentioned the cash obtained lacking, and a few neighbours knowledgeable the com­plainant that they noticed Oppong holding the bag.

     The courtroom heard that com­plainant knowledgeable Oppong’s dad and mom concerning the subject, they usually promised to refund the cash, however failed. Chief Insp Boadu mentioned when Oppong was arrest­ed on one other theft case, the complainant went to the police station to substantiate her case.

    In his warning assertion, Oppong admitted the offence and instructed the police that he used GH¢2,300 of the quantity to purchase a cell phone and spent the remainder. —GNA
