    UG, CIHRMG launch Ghana’s first HR professorial chair to transform workforce development

    In a groundbreaking transfer to advance Human Useful resource (HR) Administration in Ghana, the College of Ghana (UG) and the Chartered Institute of Human Useful resource Administration, Ghana (CIHRMG), have launched the nation’s first-ever Professorial Chair in Human Useful resource Administration.

    The launch, held on Tuesday, Could 13 on the College of Ghana Enterprise College, introduced collectively academia, business leaders, policymakers, college students, and the media.

    The initiative is ready to bridge the hole between principle and follow in HR, driving analysis, shaping coverage, and supporting nationwide growth priorities.

    Dr. Ellen Hagan, Chair of the Fundraising Committee and a revered voice within the HR sector, delivered the keynote deal with. She emphasised that the Chair is greater than a tutorial milestone.

    “That is about harnessing brainpower and sources to reshape how we handle individuals in Ghana. With out efficient HR, no group or nation can really thrive,” she stated.

    Dr. Hagan highlighted the Chair’s potential to provide contextually related analysis, affect HR coverage, and uplift skilled requirements throughout private and non-private sectors.

    She famous the alignment with Ghana’s recognition of HR as a chartered career, calling the initiative “lengthy overdue.”

    She urged all stakeholders to take possession: “This Chair will not be a symbolic gesture it’s a essential lever for driving management and growth throughout Ghana.”

    The President of the Chartered Institute of Human Useful resource Administration, Mrs. Florence Hutchful, additionally addressed the gathering, linking efficient HR administration on to financial progress and nationwide productiveness.

    She pointed to ongoing challenges in office ethics and efficiency and referred to as for pressing reforms.

    “At a current discussion board, the President himself raised considerations about office habits and ethics. This displays a deeper challenge we should confront and this Chair is a well timed and strategic response,” she stated.

    Mrs. Hutchful outlined CIHRMG’s broader plans, together with the rollout of nationwide HR requirements and renewed emphasis on moral conduct. “We should construct capability with each competence and character,” she burdened.

    Including to the importance of the occasion, Professor Obi Damoah, Head of the Division of Organisation and Human Useful resource Administration at UGBS, described the launch as a historic turning level.
