We face an existential menace, however hesitate to declare a state of emergency. For the file, a state of emergency doesn’t imply unprovoked shoot to kill.

It needs to be of grave concern that our water our bodies are being poisoned. Even in conflict time, poisoning water our bodies is a conflict crime.

Let’s keep in mind that the truth that water is obvious doesn’t imply it’s secure. Mercury and cyanide are colourless, and Ghana Water doesn’t take away toxins.

The home is burning, the environmental terrorists have declared conflict on Ghana, and we should reply appropriately. All of us have to make sure that the President, who’s the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, takes the correct choices and when he does so, we should get behind him.

Along with unlawful mining, sandwinning can also be inflicting devastation. There’s additionally the destruction of our wetlands, together with the Kpeshie Lagoon. This should be stopped. La Dadekotopon Municipal Meeting (LaDMA), the Municipal Safety Council and La Conventional Council should take strong and decisive motion to cease encroachment of the Kpeshie Lagoon.

In its Manifesto, Eco-Acutely aware Residents acknowledged that no utilities needs to be provided to wetlands, since it’s unlawful to construct on wetlands. Investigations needs to be instituted relating to unlawful buildings on wetlands with electrical energy and water, and officers who induced companies to be provided sanctioned.

Responsibility bearers should implement legal guidelines. Even relating to low-hanging fruit like noise air pollution, which damages our well being, obligation bearers fail to behave. For instance residents of the Ahodwo-Osabene group of Koforidua have been suffering from noise air pollution from White Home occasion centre since 2024. Complaints have been made to the authorities, however the noise air pollution continues. That is unacceptable.

Sadly, we look like allergic to enforcement. Responsibility bearers should do their job and implement our legal guidelines and laws or be held accountable.
