A Ghanaian pilgrim has sadly handed away throughout this 12 months’s Hajj within the holy metropolis of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The deceased has been recognized as Hajia Yussif Hawabu, a 63-year-old girl from Tamale. Her loss of life occurred on Thursday, May15, 2025, whereas performing spiritual rituals with fellow Ghanaian pilgrims.
The Administrator of Ghana’s Hajj Activity Pressure, Ismaila Skones, confirmed that Hajia Hawabu collapsed and died contained in the Masjid Al-Haram (Grand Mosque) whereas participating in Tawaf, which is the ritual of strolling across the Kaaba.

Nationwide Hajj Taskforce points essential warning
In the meantime, the National Hajj Taskforce has reminded Ghanaian pilgrims to not carry prohibited gadgets, corresponding to medicine and kola nuts, into Saudi Arabia. These warnings come consistent with strict regulations enforced by Saudi authorities in the course of the pilgrimage.
