    Why I won’t abandon Chairman Wontumi in EOCO custody – Paul Yandoh [Listen]

    The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Social gathering (NPP), Paul Yandoh, says he is not going to abandon Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly referred to as Wontumi, following his arrest.

    Mr. Yandoh has vowed to stay on the Financial and Organised Crime Workplace (EOCO) premises till the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman is launched.

    The arrest occurred shortly after Wontumi left the Prison Investigations Division (CID) headquarters in Accra on Tuesday.

    In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Mr. Yandoh condemned the act, questioning the rationale behind it.

    “I can not depart the EOCO workplace when our Chairman has been arrested. What flawed has he dedicated? This isn’t proper. What is occurring on this nation? Was it an election we went to or a coup d’état?” he questioned.

    He lamented that Chairman Wontumi has been denied entry to his authorized crew whereas in custody.

    Mr. Yandoh known as on all Ghanaians to rise and converse towards what he described as an assault and abuse of NPP members.

    “This isn’t proper and we should converse towards it. What has occurred to the traditional approach of inviting or interrogating individuals?

    “He reported to the CID workplace yesterday and was requested to return in the present day, so if EOCO had any enterprise with him, they need to have invited him. It’s Wontumi in the present day, and who is aware of who shall be subsequent,” he acknowledged.

    Chairman Wontumi had earlier reported to the CID for additional questioning over alleged involvement in unlawful mining actions, together with mining in forest reserves and coming into protected areas with out correct authorization.
