    OMCs to implement GH¢1.0 Energy Sector Levy from June 16, 2025

    The federal government and the Chamber of Oil Advertising Firms (COMAC) have agreed to start implementing the GH¢1.0 Vitality Sector Levy on every litre of petrol from Monday, June 16, 2025 as an alternative of June 9, 2025.

    This was after an settlement was made among the many stakeholders, together with the Ministry of Vitality and Inexperienced Transition and the Ministry of Finance.

    “The Chamber of Oil Advertising Firms (COMAC) needs to formally acknowledge and commend the Ministry of Vitality and Inexperienced Transition, the Ministry of Finance, the Nationwide Petroleum Authority and the Ghana Income Authority for the constructive engagements held, relating to the implementation date of the brand new Vitality Sector Levies Act 2025 (Act 1141)”, a press release signed by its Coordinator, Dr. Riverson Oppong disclosed.

    “Following our consultations and collaborative efforts, we’re happy to announce our alignment and satisfaction with the revised implementation date for the brand new Vitality Sector Shortfall and Debt Reimbursement Levy (ESSDRL). The brand new efficient date is now confirmed as Monday, sixteenth June 2025, changing the initially communicated date of ninth June 2025”, it talked about.

    It continued that the choice displays the worth of dialogue, partnership, and engagement amongst stakeholders.

    “We prolong our gratitude to all related establishments for his or her dedication to making sure a clean and sustainable implementation of the levy”, it added.

    COMAC had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the dearth of consultations by the federal government earlier than the announcement of the levy.
