    Speaker of Parliament launches capacity building project in collaboration with World Bank and UK FCDO

    The Parliament of Ghana took a big step in the direction of strengthening its legislative core because the Speaker, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin formally launched a US$ 1,600.00 Million capacity-building undertaking.

    On the launch, the Speaker expressed his gratitude to each organizations, emphasizing that this collaboration would reinforce Ghana’s democracy and assist Parliament in fulfilling its constitutional mandate extra successfully.

    The undertaking, entitled “Constructing the Capability of Parliamentarians for Financial and Monetary Governance,” was launched by representatives from the World Financial institution and FCDO, who highlighted its significance in modernizing the legislative course of.

    The Speaker famous that the initiative would deepen current partnerships between Ghana, the UK, and the worldwide growth neighborhood.

    He underscored {that a} retooled Parliament wouldn’t solely enhance legislative effectivity but additionally assist restore confidence in democratic governance and promote sound financial oversight.

    In welcoming the undertaking, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror outlined its potential to develop the engagement between Parliament and growth companions.
