    We’ll ‘arm and prepare’ for Akwatia – NPP’s Amfo Sefa fires shot after Ablekuma North violence

    The New Patriotic Get together (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tema West within the 2024 common election has issued a fiery warning in response to the violence that rocked the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun, declaring that his social gathering will “arm and put together” for the upcoming Akwatia elections if such assaults persist.

    The feedback comply with an incident the place unidentified assailants allegedly aligned with the NDC disrupted voting and assaulted NPP members.

    Amfo Sefa condemned the incident and laid blame squarely on the governing Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC).

    He described the acts of violence on the St Peter’s Methodist Church polling station as a “harmful precedent” that threatens Ghana’s democratic processes.

    Amongst these attacked throughout the chaos had been former Fisheries Minister Hawa Koomson and Nana Akua Afriyie, the NPP parliamentary candidate within the rerun election.

    Talking to Channel One Information, Amfo Sefa stated the NDC was utilizing aggression and intimidation as political instruments to affect election outcomes.

    It is a unhappy and harmful precedent that’s being set by the NDC. Through the years, at any time when there’s a by-election, we within the NPP conduct ourselves democratically

    He acknowledged.

    When interviewer Hanson Agyemang referenced the NPP’s involvement within the 2019 Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, Amfo Sefa didn’t again down.

    Is that to say we should always proceed? If that’s what you’re saying, then it means we should always put together for Akwatia. We now have to arm ourselves and prepare. And we’ll repeat it there

    He fired again.

    He then doubled down, rallying his social gathering’s grassroots supporters:

    We’re telling our boys and males: prepare, arm yourselves, and put together for Akwatia. We are going to meet there and repeat the identical factor that they [the NDC] have accomplished in Ablekuma North.

    Amfo Sefa’s remarks have sparked concern amongst civil society teams and election observers, as political tensions forward of the Akwatia contest proceed to rise.
