    GIZ, GNAGM celebrate successful completion of financial management skills training

    In a vibrant ceremony held on the convention room of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Analysis (CSIR) Head Workplace in Accra, the Ghana Nationwide Affiliation of Garment Makers (GNAGM), celebrated the profitable completion of the coaching of its members within the Bettering Entry to Finance coaching for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

    The occasion, attended by members of the affiliation, representatives from different commerce affiliation, and GIZ representatives, highlighted the achievements of a flagship initiative beneath the GIZ Help to the Personal and Monetary Sector (PFS) Programme, which has thus far educated 2,909 MSMEs from 13 totally different commerce associations throughout Larger Accra, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo areas.

    This capability constructing initiative focused members of the 13 nationwide commerce associations together with GNAGM to reinforce their capability to handle their enterprise effectively, promote enterprise progress and improve their capability to have interaction extra staff. The coaching targeted on constructing capability in enterprise, monetary and threat administration to assist the entrepreneurs make knowledgeable monetary choices, enhance their enterprise administration practices, and improve entry to monetary providers.

    The coaching was designed with inclusion at its core. Of the two,909 members educated throughout 13 commerce associations, 778 — representing 27% — had been members of the Ghana Nationwide Affiliation of Garment Makers (GNAGM). General, 54% of members had been ladies, 46% had been males, 17.4% had been individuals with disabilities, and 26.7% had been younger entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 35.

    The GNAGM ceremony was a celebration of the impression of the intervention with the presentation of certificates to the graduates. A number of the graduates shared how the coaching has led to their understanding of financial savings small quantities of their revenue to develop their, higher administration of their funds, and the way they’ve been capable of entry credit score from some monetary establishments. In line with others, they’ve been capable of open accounts with some monetary establishments and have began saving.

    With help from GIZ and funding from the German Federal Ministry for Financial Cooperation and Growth (BMZ), the initiative aligns with Ghana’s nationwide growth priorities and Germany’s 2030 Agenda for Reform. It contributes to inclusive personal sector progress, monetary resilience, poverty discount, ladies’s financial empowerment, and job creation — whereas advancing the UN Sustainable Growth Objectives (SDGs 8 and 10) and selling equitable, long-term progress.

    As a part of the broader PFS programme, GIZ Ghana continues to collaborate with monetary establishments, regulators, and commerce associations to create an enabling setting for MSMEs to thrive.
