    Helicopter Crash: Pope Leo XIV sends condolences to Ghana amid national mourning

    The chief of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, has prolonged his condolences to Ghana following the tragic lack of eight (8) lives in final Wednesday’s army helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom.

    In a papal telegram addressed to the President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Convention and revealed by the Holy See Press Workplace on the night of Thursday the seventh (seventh), the Pope expressed his sorrow over the incident. He provided prayers for the deceased and their households as they endure these troublesome occasions.

    His Holiness Pope Leo XIV sends his condolences upon the deaths of the ministers, authorities officers and all who perished within the army helicopter crash.

    Entrusting the souls of the deceased to the mercy of Almighty God, and with prayers for individuals who mourn their loss, particularly their households, the Holy Father assures the nation of his non secular closeness at this troublesome time.

    The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Convention additionally expressed its condolences in an announcement signed by its President, Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi. The message conveyed deep sympathy for the victims and the nation, stating:

    We lengthen our heartfelt condolences to their grieving households, to the varied establishments and communities they so faithfully served, and to all residents of Ghana who mourn this nationwide tragedy.

    In moments resembling this, we’re reminded of the delicate and fleeting nature of human life, and the enduring worth of service rooted in integrity, sacrifice and the frequent good.

    The eight (8) victims included 5 (5) authorities officers and three (3) crew members. Among the many authorities officers had been former Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah; former Atmosphere Minister, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed; Appearing Deputy Nationwide Safety Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong; and Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate and Vice Chairman of the Nationwide Democratic Congress.

    The crew members who additionally misplaced their lives had been Squadron Chief Peter Baafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

    Funeral preparations have been scheduled to honour the deceased. On Saturday, the ninth (ninth) of August at 5:00 p.m., the nation will collect on the forecourt of the State Home for an Night of Reflection and Memorial in tribute to the departed.

    Books of condolence can be opened concurrently at a number of key places together with the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Atmosphere, Science and Expertise, Ministry of International Affairs, Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters, Nationwide Democratic Congress Headquarters, and the NADMO Head Workplace.
