The Ministry of Lands and Pure Assets says its Accountable Cooperative Mining and Abilities Growth Programme (rCOMSDEP) is geared toward making gold mining a communal exercise in areas affected by unlawful mining.
Talking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Paa Kwasi Schandorf, defined that involving native residents straight within the mining course of will discourage them from participating in galamsey.
He pressured that the initiative is designed to create accountable, community-led mining practices that defend livelihoods and the surroundings.
