    GoldBod begins enforcement of receipts for gold transactions

    The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has began nationwide enforcement of the obligatory use of GoldBod receipts by all licensed consumers in gold buying and selling.

    In response to the Board, licensed aggregators, self-financed aggregators, Tier 1, and Tier 2 consumers are actually required to subject GoldBod receipts for each transaction.

    In a press release, the board defined that the receipts have been a key situation for the validity of gold purchases and gross sales.

    It added that to make sure compliance, GoldBod had deployed its Taskforce and Area Inspectors throughout the nation.

    It acknowledged that licensed consumers have been anticipated to make their receipt booklets obtainable for checks and to cooperate totally with inspection groups.

    GoldBod suggested small-scale miners and gold merchants to all the time demand GoldBod receipts when promoting to licensed consumers.

    The Board warned that failure by consumers to subject receipts is a severe offence that might result in sanctions, together with suspension or revocation of licenses.

    The Board added that licensed consumers who want receipt booklets ought to contact its License and Regulatory Unit for assist.

    GoldBod thanked licensed consumers for his or her cooperation up to now and mentioned transparency within the sector would assist strengthen Ghana’s gold commerce for the advantage of all stakeholders.
