The police have arrested a resident of Sekondi within the Western Area on suspicion of murdering his youthful brother, named Francis Mensah, aged 17.
Anthony Acquah was picked up by police personnel from the Kwesimintsim District Command on August 20, 2025, from a hideout.
The incident is claimed to have occurred on August 16 at Mampong-Pepease, a suburb of Sekondi.
In response to a police assertion, the suspect, Acquah, went into hiding after the incident and was arrested 4 days later from his hideout at Kojokrom close to Sekondi, following an intelligence-led operation.
The police indicated that preliminary investigation has revealed that on August 16, round 6 p.m., a misunderstanding ensued between Acquah and his youthful brother, Mensah, throughout which he allegedly stabbed him to dying.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene instantly after the incident and went into hiding till his arrest 4 days later.
Acquah is at the moment in police custody, helping with investigations.
