    Bilateral Trade Opportunities: Ghana and Peru strengthen investment ties

    Ghana and Peru are taking decisive steps to deepen commerce and funding cooperation, with a concentrate on agribusiness, sustainable mining, and know-how switch. On the Peru-Ghana Commerce and Funding Webinar, enterprise leaders, authorities officers, and policymakers from each nations reaffirmed their dedication to advancing bilateral partnerships.

    Peru’s Ambassador to Ghana, Liliana Gómez, emphasised that the partnership presents a win-win alternative, leveraging Ghana’s position as a gateway to West Africa and Peru’s entry to billions of shoppers by means of international free commerce agreements.

    “Peru and Ghana share values and a long-standing relationship. By becoming a member of efforts, our enterprise communities can share data and discover alternatives throughout key sectors. Ghana opens the door to West Africa, whereas Peru affords entry to huge international markets. The seminar is simply step one to study from one another and develop collectively.”

    She additional revealed {that a} memorandum of understanding (MoU) on political consultations has been signed, with the primary assembly scheduled to happen in two weeks. The discussions may even cowl financial points, business-to-business collaboration, and joint ventures.

    Representing Ghana, Mrs. Nana Krah Ansah-Agyei, Director of the Financial, Commerce and Funding Bureau on the Ministry of Overseas Affairs, recommended the rising bilateral ties and urged for deeper collaboration in untapped sectors. She highlighted alternatives in agribusiness, mining, fisheries, textiles, prescription drugs, vehicles, and SME improvement, stressing that each nations possess complementary strengths that may be harnessed for mutual profit.

    “Regardless of our cordial relations, Ghana and Peru are but to completely discover their commerce potential. With the MoU on political consultations, we’re ushering in a brand new period of cooperation. This webinar underscores our dedication to South-South cooperation, encouraging public-private sector partnerships, and strengthening bilateral commerce relations. Commerce between the 2 nations has been on the rise. In 2023, bilateral commerce volumes reached $27.4 million, with Ghana’s exports to Peru growing by 33.5% and Peru’s exports to Ghana rising by 33.3%.”

    Mrs. Ansah-Agyei pointed to authorities initiatives such because the Feed Ghana program and the 24-hour financial system coverage as strategic frameworks the place Peruvian experience in agribusiness and logistics might play a big position.

    “Each nations pledged to ascertain common enterprise fora, joint commerce commissions, and B2B matchmaking platforms to make sure sustained collaboration.”
