    President Mahama is balancing competency with loyalty – Mustapha Gbande

    The Deputy Director of Operations on the presi­dency, Mustapha Gbande, has revealed that President John Dramani Mahama is fastidiously nav­igating the problem of balancing technical experience with loyalty whereas making key appointments.

    In an interview on the JoyNews in Accra on Friday, he defined that the President’s selections have been primarily based on a considerate analysis of each competency and loyalty.

    He harassed that these appointed should not solely be certified for the roles but in addition align with the broad­er objectives of the administration.

    The President has been criticised for a few of his ap­pointments by some grassroots supporters who’ve, in some circumstances, demonstrated their opposi­tion via protests.

    Mr Gbannde emphasised that such reactions to appointments have been neither new nor shocking.

    “It’s not information, nor a novelty. This occurs frequently in govern­ment. At any time when these conditions come up, we have interaction with the grass­roots, clarify the rationale behind these selections, and be sure that individuals perceive the President’s perspective,” he elaborated.

    Mr Gbande additional famous that this method marks a shift from earlier administrations, the place public engagement was usually restricted.
