    Ashanti Police recover weapons from abandoned vehicle

    The police has recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from an deserted automobile alongside the Aputucagya–Bekwai Highway within the Ashanti Area.

    The gadgets retrieved embody one AK-47 assault rifle (Serial No. 29546), a regionally manufactured firearm, two AK-47 magazines loaded with 30 rounds every, 4 packets of AK-47 ammunition containing 25 rounds apiece, and 7 free rounds.

    In a press release issued in Kumasi and copied to the Ghana Information Company, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Godwin Atsu Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, stated the invention was made throughout a routine patrol by the Kuntanase District group on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
