    Ashanti Region police recover weapons and ammunition from abandoned vehicle

    The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched investigations after weapons and ammunition have been present in an deserted automobile at Aputuoagya within the Bosomtwe District.

    In keeping with the police, officers from the Kuntanase District Patrol Workforce found the automobile on Sunday, August 17, 2025, throughout a routine patrol on the Aputuoagya-Bekwai highway.

    A press release mentioned the officers noticed a white Toyota Sienta with registration quantity NR 289-24, suspiciously parked by the roadside. Two males have been seen beside the automobile allegedly smoking a substance believed to be narcotics. The lads fled into a close-by bush once they observed the police and managed to flee.

    The police defined {that a} search of the deserted automobile led to the restoration of a number of weapons and gadgets suspected to be linked to a deliberate crime.

    These included an AK-47 rifle, a regionally manufactured firearm, two AK-47 magazines loaded with 30 rounds every, 4 packets of AK-47 ammunition with 25 rounds every, and 7 unfastened rounds of ammunition.

    Different gadgets discovered have been a pair of Wellington boots, a Huawei smartphone, cowrie shells, sandals, a Ghana Card and a Momentary Driver’s License. The automobile has since been impounded on the Kuntanase Police Station whereas the displays are being stored for investigations.

    The Ashanti Regional Police Command assured the general public of its dedication to combating violent crime and referred to as on anybody with data on the suspects to report back to the closest police station or name the emergency numbers 191, 18555, or 112.
