    Branch 4 of GhIE holds capacity building workshop for artisans and AGM

    The Higher Accra Department of the Ghana Establishment of Engineering (GhIE), referred to as Department 4, has held a coaching workshop for Artisans within the Bawaleshie space, East Legon, on Friday, 14th February, 2025.

    The Department 4 additionally held their Annual Common Assembly (AGM) on the Engineering Centre, instantly after the coaching workshop for the Artisans.

    Talking on the coaching workshop, the Chairman of the Higher Accra Department 4, Ing. Michael Adotey Codjoe, stated, the Ghana Establishment of Engineering has introduced artisans into their fold by providing them coaching applications.     The AGM was chaired by the President-Elect of GhIE, Ing. Ludwig Hesse, and was attended by Ing. Leslie Alexander Aryeh, Previous President of GhIE, Ing. Philip Kwame Aheto, Ing. Michael Obeng Konadu, Ing. Joseph Oddei and different senior engineers.

    Talking on the theme for the AGM: “Advancing Engineering by way of Synthetic Intelligence”, the Visitor Speaker, Prof. Isaac Wiafe, Head, HCI Lab, Division of Laptop Science of the College of Ghana, stated, AI in Engineering Analysis ensures acceleration of knowledge evaluation, simulation and speculation testing.

    He added that it additionally generates new concepts and optimises analysis workflows. He gave examples of AI instruments equivalent to GPT-4, for literature critiques, analysis paper drafting and thought era. Different examples of AI instruments embrace ANSYS Discovery, TensorFlow/PyTorch and DeepSeek AI.

    Ing.
