    Businessman, farmer in trouble over alleged land fraud

    A Businessman and a farmer appeared earlier than the Amasaman Circuit Courtroom within the Higher Accra Area, over alleged GH¢120,000 land fraud.

    Nii Korley Sai Boni IV, 53, and Kingsley Oblitey Quan­sah Commey, 44, had been granted GH¢150,000.00 bail with two sureties every.

    They had been accused of granting 20 plots of land with out titles to Mr Raymond Kwaku Marfo, Chief Govt Officer (CEO) of RKM Property Growth Firm.

    The courtroom, presided by Ms Enid Marful-Sau, ordered that the sureties deposit their legitimate nation­al id playing cards with the Registry of the courtroom.

    Nii Boni and Commey denied conspiring to defraud Mr Marfo.

    The courtroom instructed the professionals­ecution to serve the accused with the required supplies by April 2, 2025.

    Chief Inspector Frederick Awuah-Ansah, prosecuting, stated Mr Marfo was the CEO of RKM Ghana Restricted, an property develop­ment firm.

    The courtroom additionally heard that Nii Boni was a businessman and self-styled chief of Korleyman close to Medie, whereas Commey was a farmer from Papase close to Adjen Kotoku within the Ga West Munici­pality.

    Chief Insp Awuah-An­sah revealed that in June 2022, Mr Marfo went to work on land he bought from Abu­suapayin Ayitey Ankwah of Ankwa Dobro.

    The prosecution stated Nii Boni, Commey and Obodai, now de­ceased, confronted Marfo, claiming possession of the land.

    Chief Insp Awuah-Ansah advised the courtroom that Nii Boni and Commey satisfied Marfo to purchase 20 plots of land alongside the highway resulting in Samsam.

    Marfo paid GH¢120,000.00 for the plots, and an official receipt was issued to the CEO.

    Nevertheless, when Marfo try­ed to start work on the land, he was knowledgeable by the Nii Boni and Commey that there was an injunction on it, in keeping with the prosecution.

    Chief Insp Awuah-Ansah stated after conducting a search on the Lands Fee, Marfo discov­ered the land was registered within the identify of Babbel Restricted.

    The prosecution stated Marfo re­ported the case to the Amasaman Divisional Police resulting in the arrest of Nii Boni and Commey.

    Chief Insp Awuah-Ansah indi­cated that Nii Boni and Commey of their warning statements, advert­mitted the offence, and promised to repay the quantity concerned, however failed to take action. —GNA
