Ghana Armed Forces commanders donate wage to Mahama Cares Fund
The Service Commanders of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have demonstrated profound compassion, donating their one-month fundamental wage to the Ghana Medical Belief Fund, extensively referred to as ‘Mahama Cares’.
The fund particularly targets diseases like most cancers, cardiovascular illnesses, persistent kidney failure, and stroke, amongst others.
Chief of Defence Employees, Brigadier Basic William Agyapong, articulated the motivation behind the gesture, stating on behalf of the commanders: “We’re intrigued, and it’s heartwarming to know that individuals with circumstances corresponding to cancers… will equally profit from this fund. Your Excellency, that’s the reason my army command and I’ve determined to contribute our one-month fundamental wage.”
Receiving the sudden donation, President John Dramani Mahama, the driving drive behind the Mahama Cares initiative, expressed heartfelt appreciation.
He praised the Armed Forces’ show of patriotism and compassion, noting, “It exhibits that other than your major accountability of defending our territorial boundaries and wielding weapons, you’ve got a coronary heart and soul beating in your chest.”
President Mahama concluded by thanking the army management on behalf of all Ghanaians for his or her selfless contribution in the direction of assuaging the struggling of the nation’s most medically weak.
