The newly elected executives of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), led by its president, Mr Richard Kofi Akakpovi, final Friday sought viewers with the Nationwide Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to hunt his blessings for his or her four-year tenure.
The delegation consisted of Messrs Mawuko Afadzinu (1st Vice President), Kassim Mohammed Muniru (Common Secretary), Evans Yeboah (Treasurer), Nathaniel Johnson, George Tettey, Kamal Sulley, George Owusu Ansah and George Lamptey, all board members.
Others included Charles Osei Asibey, President of Ghana Armwrestling Federation, and Christiana Ashley, vp of the Ghana Chess Affiliation
Addressing the host, Mr Akpokavie acknowledged the important thing position the Chief Imam performs in fostering unity, peace, growth, and goodwill throughout the nation, noting that, “coming earlier than him for his blessing as we start our tenure is one certain manner of kick-starting what we consider will probably be a fruitful journey to placing Ghana sports activities on the best pedestal.”
