     HWCIM Founder ‘Agradaa’ appeals her sentence

    Founding father of the Heaven Means Cham­pion Worldwide Ministry (HWCIM), Patricia Asiedua, often known as Agradaa, has appealed towards her 15-years sentence on the Excessive Courtroom in Accra.

    She stated the sentence handed down by Circuit Courtroom in Accra was unreasonable and never supported by the proof on file.

    On July 3, the Circuit Courtroom in Accra, presided over by Mrs Eve­lyn Asamoah, sentenced the self-styled evangelist to fifteen years in jail after she was discovered responsible on a number of counts of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic commercials in newspapers.

    Mrs Asiedua used her church to defraud members of the general public underneath the guise of “cash dou­bling.”

     Prosecuting, Assistant Su­perintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Haligah advised the courtroom that on October 10, 2022, the complainants reported to the police that Mrs Asiedua demand­ed and obtained cash from them underneath the pretext of giving them numerous sums of monies in return.

    He stated upon the receipt of the report, police commenced investigations into the matter which led to the arrest of the convict.
