The CEO of the Minerals Improvement Fund and Nationwide Girls’s Organiser of the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw, says she feels no sympathy for former Awutu Senya MP Hawa Koomson, following studies of an alleged bodily assault on Koomson through the Ablekuma North election rerun on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Dr Bissiw, whereas monitoring the electoral course of on the Odorkor Methodist 1 polling station, cited her personal previous experiences of political violence allegedly instigated by Koomson as the explanation behind her unapologetic stance.

She recounted.
She narrated how she narrowly escaped additional hurt through the stated assault:
When the police managed to place me of their automobile, they chased me. What saved me from the shifting automobile was my seatbelt.
Dr Bissiw detailed extra of what transpired on that day, including:
The previous MCE for Teshie tried to intervene, however he was overwhelmed. His spouse was overwhelmed.
Whereas she condemned all types of electoral violence unequivocally, she was agency in her refusal to sympathise with Koomson:

I need to placed on file that any type of electoral violence – I condemn it. I need that to be on clear file. However let no person ask me, a sufferer of Hawa Koomson, to sympathise or empathise along with her. I don’t.
Reinforcing her place, Dr Bissiw added:
I’m a sufferer of Hawa Koomson. She danced to it, she smiled, she laughed, and I used to be being overwhelmed.
She additional referenced previous violent incidents linked to Koomson, together with the Kasoa taking pictures incident:
What about those that had been killed because of the violence at Kasoa? What’s going to you inform their households? What about our MP for Kasoa and what she went by?
NDC not concerned in election violence
Dr Bissiw rejected any claims that her political get together, the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), was concerned within the newest incident.

Dr Bissiw concluded by saying:
If I didn’t deserve it, I believe she thought I did, as a result of she introduced the thugs to come back and assault me. So no matter occurred, if I did, she deserves it higher.
Dr Hannah Bissiw’s feedback add a deeply private and emotional layer to the discourse surrounding political violence in Ghana. Her refusal to specific sympathy for Hawa Koomson stems from her personal painful experiences, which she believes haven’t been acknowledged or addressed.
