    IITA researcher Rich Kofi Kofituo appointed Deputy CEO of Tree Crop Development Authority

    President John Mahama has appointed a researcher on the Worldwide Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Wealthy Kofi Kofituo, as Deputy Chief Government Officer of the Tree Crop Improvement Authority.

    Kofituo labored with IITA as a Monitoring, Analysis, Accountability, and Studying Professional, contributing to a number of high-impact worldwide improvement initiatives.

    IITA is among the 14 centres of the CGIAR, previously often called the Consultative Group on Worldwide Agricultural Analysis.

    Based within the Seventies by the World Financial institution Group, Meals and Agriculture Organisation, and the United Nations Improvement Programme, CGIAR stays the world’s largest non-profit agricultural analysis establishment.

    Mr Kofituo brings to the Tree Crop Improvement Authority (TCDA) over 10 years of expertise in monitoring and analysis, socio-economic analysis, venture administration, and capability constructing.

    The Authority was established in 2019 by an act of parliament to control and create a conducive setting for the expansion and improvement of tree and industrial crops in Ghana.

    The authority regulates the manufacturing, processing, buying and selling, and advertising and marketing of six tree crops: cashew, shea, mango, coconut, rubber, and oil palm. It’s below the Ministry of Meals and Agriculture.

    A seasoned agricultural economist, Mr Kofituo has accomplished his doctoral research in Utilized Agricultural Economics & Coverage on the College of Ghana, awaiting commencement.

    He holds a Grasp of Philosophy (MPhil) in Agricultural Economics and a Bachelor of Science diploma in Agricultural Economics from the identical college.

    He possesses a number of certifications in venture administration, gender variety, and results-based monitoring.

    He beforehand labored as a analysis assistant within the Division of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, the College of Ghana.

    He additionally served as a member of the College Administration Committee on the College of Agriculture, College of Ghana, and as a College students’ Consultant Council (SRC) official.

    Mr Kofituo specialises in tree crops worth chain, climate-smart agriculture, and sustainable land use.

    His experience in designing analytical frameworks and making certain data-driven choices might be invaluable in selling sustainable improvement, enhancing productiveness, and enhancing the competitiveness of Ghana’s tree crop sector in collaboration with different stakeholders.
