    Immigration officers urged to discharge  duties professionally

     The Ahafo Regional Commander of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Deputy Commissioner of Immi­gration (DCOI) Francis Palmdeti, has urged District and Sector Commanders within the Ahafo Area to be proactive and strategic within the discharge of their duties.

    He mentioned the evolving nature of immigration administration and en­forcement required that personnel of the GIS explored progressive methods within the efficiency of their duties.

    “Our obligations contin­ue to increase past conventional duties, requiring innovation, adaptability and collaboration to succeed”, he said, at his maiden assembly with District and Sector commanders of the GIS, at Goaso in Ahafo Area, on Monday.

    The assembly was to allow the commanders and officers strate­gise regionally, and align their activi­ties with the 2025-2026 motion plan of the service.

    DCOI Palmdeti additionally urged per­sonnel of the service as a safety establishment to uphold self-discipline and professionalism.

    He outlined the core mandate of GIS, together with strengthening Immigration enforcement activ­ities, neighborhood sensitisation on transnational crimes and promot­ing gender mainstreaming.

    Moreover, DCOI Palm­deti galvanised GIS personnel to be vigilant and proactive within the efficiency of their duties of checking unlawful migration, making certain expatriates have required permits and stopping illegal employment practices.

    He famous that, “Transnational crimes such human trafficking, drug smuggling, cybercrime and terrorism pose vital threats to nationwide safety.”

    DCOI Palmdeti urged the GIS personnel to accentuate schooling on such crimes in our commu­nities on the hazards of those crimes within the society.
