A tragic navy helicopter crash has claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians, together with 5 high-ranking authorities officers.
The Z-9 plane was on official task from Accra to Obuasi when it crashed within the Adansi Akrofuom District on the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2025, only a few kilometres from its vacation spot.
The flight took off at 9:12am.
The Presidency has declared three days of nationwide mourning, from Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 9, with candlelight vigils and the laying of wreaths deliberate in honour of the deceased.
