    Kennedy Agyapong calls for shift from importation to production

    Presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Occasion (NPP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has known as on Ghanaians to concentrate on native manufacturing as an alternative of relying closely on imported items.

    In a submit on his official X (previously Twitter) account, Mr. Agyapong stated Ghana has the capability to develop and course of its personal merchandise, particularly within the northern areas.

    He identified that though soybeans are grown in all 5 northern areas, the nation nonetheless imports soya drinks from overseas.

    In accordance with him, this development is a part of the issue weakening Ghana’s economic system.

    “We develop soybeans proper right here in all 5 northern areas of Ghana, but we import soya drinks from overseas. That’s the downside! Below my management, we is not going to solely develop, we’ll course of, produce, and export,” he wrote.

    The Assin Central MP pressured that his imaginative and prescient is to construct factories within the North, create jobs for the youth, and strengthen the Ghanaian cedi via native manufacturing and export.

    He added, “Let’s transfer from importation to manufacturing,” emphasizing that industrialization is the important thing to Ghana’s financial transformation.
