President John Dramani Mahama has signed the guide of condolence on the Namibian Excessive Fee in Accra in honour of the late former Namibian chief, Sam Nujoma.
In his heartfelt message, President Mahama acknowledged Nujoma’s immense contribution to Namibia’s liberation and Africa’s broader struggle for dignity and freedom.
“Liberation Comrade, you’ve got actually fought struggle, and now could be the time for the devoted soldier to put down his arm and take a relaxation.
“Namibia is actually grateful to you, and Africa is actually grateful to you for the dignity and freedom we take pleasure in as a folks. Relaxation in peace, soldier, Sam Nujoma. Lengthy stay Africa and Namibia solidarity.”
Sam Nujoma, the founding President of Namibia, died on the age of 95 within the capital Windhoek.
Nujoma led the lengthy struggle for independence from South Africa in 1990 after serving to discovered Namibia’s liberation motion often called the South West Africa Folks’s Organisation (Swapo) within the Nineteen Sixties.
After independence, Nujoma grew to become president in 1990 and led the nation till 2005.
