An unemployed man, who allegedly swindled a businessman of GH¢170,000 beneath the pretence of promoting land to his sufferer, has appeared earlier than the Accra Circuit Courtroom.
Davis Nii Odai Afotey, charged with conspiracy to commit crime and fraudulent transaction of land, pleaded not responsible.
His accomplices, Elvis Okley and Nii Bortey, aka Azoor, are stated to be at massive.
The courtroom, presided over by Mr Samuel Vivid Acquah, has admitted Afotey to GH¢100, 000 bail with three sureties, one to be justified.

Prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Daniel Danku, stated the complainant was a resident of Adentan whereas Afotey resided at Nungua Nautical, Accra.

Chief Insp Danku acknowledged that the complainant after making enquiries, met Afotey, who claimed possession of the land.

Chief Insp Danku stated the complainant made advance payment of GH¢110,000 to Afotey, who promised to provide documents protecting the land.
The prosecution revealed that Afotey later handed over a website plan to the complainant to conduct a search on the land on the Lands Fee.
Moreover, Chief Insp Danku stated a search revealed the positioning plan given to the complainant by the accused had nothing to do with land that the complainant paid for.
The courtroom heard that when the complainant confronted Afotey, he instructed him that the land had been offered to a different individual by his elder brother.
Prosecution stated that Afotey promised to interchange the land and led complainant to the 2 different accused individuals, who’re at massive.
Chief Insp Danku stated Afotey claimed the 2 individuals had been his uncles and the custodians of the land he supposed to promote to him.
The prosecution disclosed that Afotey led the complainant to Kpone Katamanso and made him pay GH¢26,000 for documentation and different bills earlier than he may develop the land.
