    Must Read: Police announce road closures, diversions for 68th Independence Day celebration

    The Ghana Police Service has introduced safety preparations, together with non permanent highway closures and diversions, for the 68th Independence Day celebration on the Jubilee Home in Accra.

    In a press launch dated sixth March, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Director of Public Affairs, Grace Ansah-Akrofi, outlined that the next roads will probably be briefly closed to vehicular traffic and reopened after the occasion.

    Highway Closures

    • Liberation Highway at Opeibea Intersection

    • 37 Intersection in direction of the Central Enterprise District (CBD)

    • Independence Avenue at Ako-Adjei Bypass

    • Jawaharlal Nehru Highway at Switchback Highway

    • Presidential Drive across the Jubilee Home, which will probably be blocked at John Hammond Highway at TV3 Junction and Kanda Hyperlink

    Highway Diversions

    The assertion suggested motorists to pay attention to the next diversions:

    • Motorists on Liberation Highway from the Airport in direction of Accra will probably be diverted at Opeibea Site visitors Intersection onto Alliance Française Highway to affix Obasanjo Freeway or onto Airport Bypass to hyperlink with Giffard Highway.

    • Motorists on Independence Avenue from the Accra route will probably be diverted at Ako-Adjei Interchange onto Ring Highway Central in direction of Osu or Kawukudi.

    • Motorists from Membership 10 and Kanda Put up Workplace will probably be diverted at Kanda Hyperlink onto Sunyani and Kade Avenue to attach with Kanda Freeway.

    • Motorists are suggested to plan various routes prematurely, as no autos will probably be allowed to park on the highway.

    Automotive Parks and Automobile Restrictions

    • No autos will probably be allowed to park in unauthorised areas or drive via highway blockades.

    • Safety autos and autos carrying dignitaries will probably be granted entry after thorough checks.

    • Site visitors Police Officers will probably be deployed to direct and help motorists to designated automotive parks and diverted routes.

    • Towing companies will probably be out there to take away any deserted, disabled, or wrongly parked autos on the occasion grounds.

    The Police advise motorists to pay attention to these preparations and plan various routes earlier than setting out. Most of the people, particularly motorists, is urged to cooperate with the Police to make sure clean site visitors administration earlier than, throughout, and after the programme.
