     N/R Minister appeals to GWL for water rationing

     THE Northern Regional Minister, Mr Ali Adolf John Nburidiba, has appealed to Ghana Water Restricted (GWL) to ration water to serve the residents of Tamale and its environs to be able to tackle the water disaster going through the metropolis.

    The Northern Regional Professional­duction Supervisor of the GWL, Mr Albert Nyeteng, stated the Tamale Water System was in-built 1972, and had since seen just one main enlargement in 2008.

    He attributed the water challenges to aged infrastructure and a quickly rising inhabitants, including that demand for water in Tamale at present stood at 90,000m³, whereas manufacturing was solely between 35,000m³ and 38,000m³, lower than half of the demand.
