    NCA clamps down on 62 defaulting stations

    The Nationwide Communications Authority (NCA) has directed non-compliant FM Broadcasting Stations to right away droop operations on their respective frequencies for varied infractions.

    In accordance with the NCA, the enforcement motion has develop into needed as a consequence of persistent violations of regulatory necessities, particularly Rules 54 and 56 of the Digital Communications Rules, 2011 (L.I. 1991) and the Circumstances of their FM Broadcasting Authorisations.

    This motion follows a directive issued by the Minister for Communication, Digital Expertise and Innovation, Sam George, mandating the NCA to implement relevant sanctions on stations discovered to be in violation of the rules within the current audit carried out by the NCA to make sure full compliance with licensing and operational necessities within the broadcasting sector.

    Following this directive, the NCA has commenced enforcement of regulatory sanctions towards defaulting entities recognized within the Frequency Audit Report in phases.
