    NCA moves to suspend MultiChoice Ghana’s Pay TV authorisation over pricing concerns

    The Nationwide Communications Authority (NCA) has notified MultiChoice Ghana Restricted of its intention to droop the corporate’s authorisation to function a satellite tv for pc pay tv service in Ghana.

    In a press launch issued on Thursday, August 7, 2025, the NCA said that the motion is being taken in accordance with Part 13 of the Digital Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), following issues over MultiChoice Ghana’s pricing mannequin, which the regulator described as “inimical to the general public curiosity.”

    In line with the assertion, the NCA has served the corporate with a proper discover, giving it thirty (30) days to reply.

    Throughout this era, MultiChoice Ghana could submit its objections, present remedial actions, or current its views to keep away from the suspension.

    “This regulatory motion is subsequent upon the corporate’s pricing mannequin which is deemed inimical to the general public curiosity,” the NCA stated within the launch.

    The NCA is the physique mandated to license and regulate digital communication providers in Ghana. It operates below the Nationwide Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769), which changed Act 524 of 1996.
