    Nigerian tribunal upholds $220m fine against Meta for violating consumer, data laws

    A $220 million fantastic in opposition to Meta Platforms by Nigeria’s competitors watchdog for violating native shopper, information safety and privateness legal guidelines has been upheld following an unsuccessful attraction, Nigeria’s Competitors and Client Safety Tribunal stated on Friday.

    Nigeria’s Federal Competitors and Client Safety Fee (FCCPC) fined Meta final July for discriminatory and exploitative practices in opposition to Nigerian shoppers, in contrast with different jurisdictions with related laws.
