    In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Chairman Butey acknowledged that the executives should take accountability for the result, although it was disagreeable.

    “I admit we should take accountability as a result of if there was a win, we might have mentioned we made it occur. So we should settle for the defeat and apologise,” he mentioned.

    The NPP was poised to interrupt the eight-year cycle with its presidential candidate after which Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

    John Mahama, on the ticket of the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), was elected and declared winner by the Electoral Fee (EC) after polling 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55%, whereas Dr. Bawumia secured 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.

    In Parliament, there was additionally a historic shift in energy because the NDC obtained 183 seats, leaving the NPP with simply 88 seats.
