    OSP investigates  Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, 4 others

    The previous Chief Government of the Nationwide Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mustapha Ab­dul-Hamid, and 4 others are beneath investi­gation by the Workplace of the Particular Prosecutor (OSP) in a suspected corruption and corruption-related offences.

    This was introduced by Mr Kissi Agyebeng, the Particular Prosecutor, at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday.

    Mr Agyebeng stated the matter was in respect of an alleged embezzlement of GH¢1.3 billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) on the Na­tional Petroleum Authority (NPA).

    He stated the investigation primarily targets the Co-ordinator of the UPPF, Jacob Amuah; NPA workers, Freda Tandoh, Wendy Ashong Newman, and Mr Abdul-Hamid.

    In the meantime, the SP said that his workplace additionally commenced investigation into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of the operations of the Minerals Earnings Funding Fund (MIIF) – concerning funds made in respect of Ag­yapa Royalties Restricted; Small Scale Mining Incubation Programme (SSMIP); and Quarry Worth Addition Programme (QVAP).

    Additionally beneath investigation is the Asante Gold Corpo­ration; ElectroChem Ghana Restricted; Lithium Asset (projected lithium-focused exploration and develop­ment company); Gold Asset 2 (Enchi gold challenge); all different investments by MIIF; funds expended on the Chairman of the Board of Administrators; the operational funds of MIIF; buy of parcel of land for intend­ed workplace constructing; contracts and agreements entered into by MIIF; and publications by MIIF.

    The investigation targets two former officers and two serving officers of the Fund.
