    Over 150 shops in Kumasi locked up over unpaid taxes, traders stranded

    House owners of a minimum of 150 retailers in elements of Kumasi within the Ashanti area have been left stranded after their amenities have been locked up by the Ghana Income Authority (GRA) over unpaid taxes.

    The Ashanti New City Taxpayer Service Centre, as a part of ongoing tax compliance measures, positioned retailers of the tax defaulters beneath new locks to have them honour their tax obligations.

    The GRA explains that the affected house owners did not adjust to their civic accountability regardless of a number of notices and reminders to pay their excellent quantities.
