    Participation of vulnerable youth, women in local govt key in devt  – RISE-Ghana

     A civil society organisation primarily based within the Up­per East Area, RISE-Ghana, has urged native authorities officers to acknowl­edge the contributions of girls, people with disabilities, and different marginalised teams in native governance actions.

    It emphasised the impor­tance of fostering inclusivity and elevating the voices of marginal­ised teams throughout a time when President John Dramani Mahama urged collective efforts to replicate on, assess, and realign the nation in direction of prosperity.

    This was made identified at a bi-annual grassroot regional internet­working and advocacy strategising assembly held in Bolgatanga of the Higher East on Tuesday.

    The assembly shaped a part of the Heard In every single place And Repre­sented Every day (HEARD) mission launched below the auspices of RISE-Ghana, with funding help from Norsaac.

    The Venture Officer, Bernice Atanga, said that to reinforce the involvement of girls and vul­nerable youth in rural areas inside native authorities, the organisation was participating with revered stake­holders to collect their insights.

    This initiative, she stated goals to draft and submit a petition to the Municipal and District Chief Exec­utives (MDCEs), who’ve but to be appointed.

    “At the moment, we now have known as some youth, ladies’s group and CSOs to debate the event explanation for the PWDs, youth and ladies.     Judith Atambire of the Discussion board for African Ladies Educationists (FAWE) Ghana, challenged chiefs and opinion leaders within the area to rise to spare some ladies from being subjected to inhumane cultural practices which, she stated, undermined their development and progress.

    She stated: “We would like the boys to assist the ladies progress of their schooling, enterprise with none obstacles. This may assist us construct an inclusive society collectively”.
