    Police intensify patrols on Sunyani-Atronie road

     The police within the Bono Area have intensified patrols on the Sunyani-Atronie stretch of the principle Sunyani-Kenyasi highway.

    This follows current surge in armed theft assaults by freeway robbers on drivers and commuters who plies that stretch of the highway.

    The 38-kilometre stretch, a key route linking Ahafo and Bono Areas, has turn into a secure haven for freeway robbers who rob and generally kill their victims.

    The robbers appear to take pleasure in a discipline day as a result of deplorable state of the highway.

    As half measures to counter prison actions on the highway, the police has mounted 5 safety checkpoints alongside that stretch with the motion of the police patrol staff intensified.

     The Bono Regional Minister, Joseph Addae Akwaboa, at about 11pm on final Wednesday paid a shock go to to those examine factors to determine whether or not the measures put in place by the Bono Area­al Safety Council was being adhered to.

    Nana Kwame Bediako, a taxi driver who plies that stretch of the highway, lamented that he and his different colleague drivers all the time entertain fears at any time when utilizing the highway as a result of frequent robberies and sporadic gunfire alongside the route
