    Producer price inflation for March eases to 24.4%

    The year-on-year producer inflation price for March 2025 has lowered to 24.4 %, from 27.6 % recorded in February 2025, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has introduced.

    This means a slowdown in costs of products and companies quoted on the manufacturing stage.

    The Producer Worth Index (PPI) measures the typical change over time within the promoting costs of products and companies as obtained by home producers and signifies that month-on-month producer inflation between February and March 2025 stood at 0.6 %, decrease than the 1.5 % seen the earlier month.

    A sectoral breakdown exhibits that producer value inflation within the business sector, excluding the development sector, decreased from 42.9 % in February 2025 to 36.3 % in March 2025.

    Within the building sector the speed declined to fifteen.4 % in March 2025, whereas within the Providers sector it stood at 7.2 % throughout the identical interval.

    The Trade sector remained the primary driver of producer inflation, recording a year-on-year inflation price of 36.3 and representing a 6.6 share level lower relative to the speed recorded in February, with a month-on-month change of 0.7 %.

    Industrial producer value inflation within the Mining and Quarrying sub-sector declined by 9.2 share factors to 35.4 %, in comparison with 44.6 % in February 2025.

    The Manufacturing sub-sector elevated by 2.0 share factors to 22.8 % in March 2025 with Electrical energy and Fuel sub-sector recording an inflation price of 5.1 % representing a lower of 4.6 share factors from 9.7 % in February 2025.

    The Water provide, sewerage and waste administration sub-sector recorded an inflation price of 4.8 %.

    The year-on-year price of building producer value inflation for March 2025 was 15.4 %, representing a 0.4 share level lower from February 2025 (15.8 %). The month-on-month change between February 2025 and March 2025 was 0.1 %.

    On sub-sector foundation, inflation in Building of buildings decreased by 1.6 share factors from 15.9 % in February 2025 to 14.3 % in March 2025. The Specialised Building actions sub-sector recorded inflation of 17.9 % in March 2025 in comparison with 18.5 % in February 2025.

    The Civil Engineering sub-sector recorded no change in its inflation price, remaining at 15.7 % for March 2025.

    The year-on-year companies producer value inflation is 7.2 %, representing a 0.6 share level lower from February 2025 (7.8 %) with a month-on-month change of 0.2 %.

    Inflation within the Transport and Storage sub-sector decreased by 2.3 share factors from 22.7 % as at February 2025 to twenty.4 % in March 2025.

    The Lodging and Meals Providers sub-sector price decreased by 6.5 share factors from 29.1 % in February 2025 to 22.6 % in March 2025, and the Data and Communication sub-sector recorded an inflation price of 4.1 %.
