    Sports Minister Kofi Adams pledges support for cycling growth at PruRide 2025

    The Minister for Sports activities and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, joined cyclists, dignitaries, and company stakeholders on Sunday, thirty first August 2025, on the Black Star Sq. for the sixth version of the PruRide biking occasion.

    The worldwide competitors, organised by the Ghana Biking Federation in collaboration with Prudential Life Insurance coverage Ghana, drew individuals from Ghana, Nigeria, and Morocco.

    “With the appropriate partnerships and strategic investments, PruRide and different home biking competitions have the potential to develop into continental and international platforms, attracting expertise and tourism to our shores,” Hon. Adams said.

    The 2025 PRURide version marked a major milestone in gender fairness, with equal prize cash awarded to each the female and male champions.

    The ladies’s 75km street race noticed Nigerian cyclists Mary Samuel and Persistence Effiong Otuodung clinch first and second place respectively, whereas Ghana’s Erica Sedzro secured third.

    Within the 100km Male Street Race, Solomon Tagoe of Gutten CC emerged victorious with a mean pace of 34.68 km/h, adopted carefully by Frank Akuffo Awuku (TBT) and Prince Maison (Membership Sky Workforce).

    Hon. Adams used the event to spotlight the federal government’s broader strategic agenda for sports activities fairness, participation, and sustainability.

    He reminded stakeholders that Cupboard has accepted the institution of a Nationwide Sports activities Fund, designed to assist all sporting disciplines from grassroots to elite stage, with company contributions and cross-sector partnerships as a serious pillar.

    Additional, the Minister recommended company sponsors corresponding to Prudential Life Insurance coverage Ghana and AV Carbon for his or her assist, noting that ESG-aligned sports activities like biking provide sustainable pathways for branding, well being promotion, and youth empowerment.
