    Sports Policing Unit to be created in response to fan’s death at Ghana league match

    The Ghana Police Service, in partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has revealed plans to create a devoted Sports activities Policing Unit aimed toward enhancing security and safety at soccer matches, studies Ghanasoccernet.

    This initiative follows the latest violent incident throughout a Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko, which led to the tragic dying of Francis Yaw Frimpong.

    Inspector Common of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo-Dampare shared particulars of the brand new safety measures throughout a closed-door assembly with membership representatives. These measures are designed to stop related incidents sooner or later, per the report.

    The Sports activities Policing Unit will work carefully with supporter teams, guarantee educated safety personnel are current at matches, and improve intelligence operations.

    6 nabbed in reference to fan’s dying

    Police in an announcement recognized the suspect as Elizabeth Akosua Ntiriwaa, often known as Akosua Black Chinese language.

    In response to the police, she is at present in police custody and now aiding authorities with their investigation into the incident.

    The 5 different suspects arrested to this point are Nsoatreman FC proprietor and Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Joseph Kyeremeh, Agyemang Duah Owusu, Isaac Ofosu and Augustine Yeboah.
